LA, London and Paris. Oh my!

It was just an ordinary day, I was trying to console my sister after she realized she couldn’t go to a concert she had planned to attend. So, I decided to lift her spirits by suggesting we go on a local trip, maybe to Melbourne. And well, somehow, we ended up halfway across the world just 13 weeks later.
We had found some great deals to London and the 9-hour layover in Los Angeles was just an added bonus! And with Paris being just a train ride away from London, we knew we had to fit that in as well!
Here’s what our trip looked like:

Los Angeles

I’m actually really proud of how well we managed to utilize our time during our layover! Thanks to Uber, the LA Metro, and navigational tips from my husband (wedding blog post coming soon) who used to live in LA, we were able to fit in everything we wanted!

My sister and I had already been to LA a  few years back during our family America tour, so we didn’t need to spend much time exploring the city, instead we chose some places we wanted to revisit, like the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Downtown LA and Venice Beach, and then added places that we wanted to see for the first time, like LACMA and Skyspace LA.

At the start of last year, had you asked me what travel destination was at the top of my bucket list, I would’ve told you it was London. So needless to say, I was over the moon when we spontaneously planned this trip! Although I was kind of bummed that the Big Ben was under construction (and surprised because it was way smaller than I had imagined!).
I absolutely fell in love with London! There was so much great culture, history, shopping, amazing food and an endless list of things to do. The 8 days in London truly didn’t feel like enough!
Some places off our itinerary included The Shard, Globe Theatre, Buckingham Palace, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Notting Hill, Parliament House, Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey, Oxford Steet, Somerset House, The British Library, The National History Museum, The British Museum, Leadenhall Market, Sky Garden, and the list goes on!

There was no way we would go all the way to London and NOT see Paris! So of course, we took a short trip to Paris towards the end of our holiday. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a lot of time (I could have spent 3 days just in the Louvre!) but we still managed to fit in quite a bit! Including, The Louvre, Notre Dame, Saint-Chapelle, Arc De Triomphe (we even climbed it!), Trocadero (for views of the Eiffel Tower), Luxembourg Palace, Jardin Du Palais Royal, and the famous bookstore – Shakespeare and Co.

This trip is very close to my heart. It was the first time that my younger sister and I travelled together, and we had an amazing time (even though we didn’t have anyone to take photos of the two of us together). It was great to have our own little adventure before I got married and I know it’s a trip that I’ll remember and hold close for a lifetime <3
