Welcome to part 2 of my skin routine series. Last week I went over my makeup removal routine using my Jane Iredale Magic Mitt. (if you aren’t familiar with the Magic Mitt and haven’t read last week’s post you’re missing out) Check it out here!
This week I’m going over my daily cleansing routine. I used to be really lazy with my skin (not a good idea at all) but I quickly turned that around when I realized how dry and dull my skin had become despite the fact that I was moisturizing daily. My beautician recommended that I use a Dermalogica moisturizer, so I switched my previous moisturizer for the Dermalogica Skin Smoothening Cream. It seriously made such a huge difference that I ditched my old products and bought a collection of Dermalogica products to use instead. Here’s a quick breakdown of what a bought and what they do (in the same order that I use them)-
This pre-cleanser is an oil that, as the name suggests, you apply before cleansing your face. It’s made of an oil that clears everything off your skin prior to using your cleanser so that the cleanser can properly cleanse your skin itself (instead of the grime on it). It can also be used to clean off your makeup, but I personally prefer taking my makeup off before using the oil, so that the oil can remove any remnants.
Special Cleansing Gel
This is a daily cleanser. It has a gel texture that lathers up when you apply it and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth!
Gentle Cream Exfoliatant
The exfoliator is to be used once-twice a week in place of the cleansing gel and acts as a deep skin exfoliant, removing dirt and pollution that has settled into the skin.
I’d never used toner before, but I’ve loved using this one. It’s really light and comes in a spray bottle that you can spritz straight onto your face, making it super handy.
Skin Smoothening Cream
This is the moisturiser I’ve been using, and it honestly makes your skin smoother after even just one use. My skin is much softer, and hasn’t been drying up as quickly.
Intensive Eye RepairHonestly speaking, the only reason I got the eye cream is because it came as a set with some of my products. It’s good to have though because it’s super gentle on the eye area and makes for a good moisturizer for that sensitive skin.
The Dermalogica products that I’ve been using have made a huge difference to my skin. It’s only been a couple weeks but already my skin is looking smoother, it’s softer and looks more fresh. Even my makeup is sitting better on my face. It’s making me so happy :’) Needless to say I’m really happy with these products and would definitely recommend checking out Dermalogica products if you’re in a skin rut like I was! Stay tuned for the final part of my Scintillating Skin Series, coming next Sunday!
