Welcome to the third and final part of my Scintillating Skin Series! If you’ve missed it, in Part 1 I spoke about my makeup removal routine, which you can find here, and in Part 2 I spoke about my face cleansing routine which you can find here . Today I’m focusing on my fortnightly face mask routine.
The mask I’ve been using is the GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment. I have in the past used the GlamGlow Youthmud mask, which I absolutely loved, but with big pores being my problem area I opted to give the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment a try. There are 6 GlamGlow varieties, each with a different focus. You can read about each of them on their official website here.
The GlamGlow Supermud Treatment works as a deep cleanser which unclogs pores, removes dirt and battles skin imperfections such as acne, blackheads and even discolouration, through its natural mud mixed in with eucalyptus leaves. The mask glides on as a liquid and dries up while it sits on your face. It’s recommended that you keep the mask on for between 5-20 minutes, and so I keep the mask on for the full 20 minutes (gotta make the most of it!). It’s a very light mask that leaves my skin feeling really smooth. While the mask packaging says that it can be applied multiple times a week, I choose to use it just once a fortnight to keep it from stripping away my natural oils.
Applying the face mask is the final part of my skincare routine, after proper makeup removal and my facial cleansing routine. Proper skincare is super important and differs from person to person, so you need to make sure that you’ve got a routine that works well for you. Going off my own routines, I would definitely recommend the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt, along with products by both Dermalogica and GlamGlow, both of whom have something for all skin types. It’s taken me years to find a skin routine that works for me, but I’m really happy with what I’ve found. Of course though, there’s a little more to remember when taking care of your skin. So here’s a quick reminder about skin tips to always follow:
- Drink water throughout the day, it flushes out your system
- Regularly wash your beauty blenders and makeup brushes. I use a makeup cleaning mat and baby shampoo to clean my brushes/blenders properly and it works really well
- Don’t pick and prod at pimples, in fact, just try to avoid touching your face altogether. It’s the best way to avoid dirt from settling into your skin
And that’s all folks! This brings me to the end of my Scintillating Skin Series! Hope you guys enjoyed and found something that will work for you! If there’s anything at all that you should take away from this series, it’s that you need a Jane Iredale Magic Mitt in your life! Trust me!
